Hay folks,Been playing with my Sync 250 with a PC-300 on Aluminum. Seems to be putting less amps in the metal but wow if you shorten the on time much it gets to be a mess unless you slow way down. Just playing, thought I would ask and see if anyone else was playing with it. Oh yeah running on 1/8 Alum, no filler, 120 amp max, green tungsten , 100% Argon and varying settings. Don't have much trouble with Alum, well for a goofball, without the pulser.  BTW Pulser setting I use on SS DCEN aren't even close, really didn't think they would be.....BrandonLincoln Tombstone 225 A/C Steel StickerOld Victor O2/Acetylene setupMiller Syncrowave 250 Tig/PC-300 PulserMiller Millermatic 212 Mig HTP Invertatig 201 Giant Teck D50 Plasma cutterLots of HF grinders
Reply:I have the same setup as you with the PC300 and I like it. I use a lot of amps and vary the on time. I also use the pedal, I just like it. I was playing around trying to weld beer cans end to end with 40 amps+ (Invertec) and got to the point that I could go a good way around. I have been using pulse lately on 1/4 inch at 250 amps 35% on and30% background and with preheat I can make a fair bead. I am just a hobby welder though.Good luckRobertSW250 with PC300Lincoln invertec V205t (on loan)Wilmington, NC
Reply:cool Robert....I have been messing with a few cast Alum wheels and find I can turn the amps up and very the on time to keep the heat down. It does take a bunch of messing with, to find the right combination.Lincoln Tombstone 225 A/C Steel StickerOld Victor O2/Acetylene setupMiller Syncrowave 250 Tig/PC-300 PulserMiller Millermatic 212 Mig HTP Invertatig 201 Giant Teck D50 Plasma cutterLots of HF grinders
Reply:There is a learning curve. I had mine for a long time before it started to make sense to me and now I like to use it. There are others that will tell you to put it away and forget about it though.I have a friend that has an older one and he would never put the current above what was required to weld at 100% on time so it never worked for him. He needed to have the on time near 100% to weld so what is the point of having it?? I try mine at 175 amps and pulse for 30% on time for 1/8 AL . Adjust the current or on time for adjustment. Just play with it and you will come up with your own process that will give good results for you.Have funRobertWilmington, NC
