Reply:That's about right. I pay quite a bit less, but I generally buy in 10# packs.I guess the question that bears asking is, if you do mostly thin aluminum, what are you buying 1/8 and 3/16" rods for?Syncro 250 DX Dynasty 200 DXMM 251 w/30A SG XMT 304 w/714 Feeder & Optima PulserHH187Dialarc 250 AC/DCHypertherm PM 1250Smith, Harris, Victor O/ASmith and Thermco Gas MixersAccess to a full fab shop with CNC Plasma, Water Jet, etc.

Reply:I just went to airgas and purchased tig rods, tungsten, cups, collets, gas lenses. I noticed at the bottom of the reciept a $7.65 hazmat shipping charge. My question is?If you order on line? do you pay Hazmat charge?I paided $12.24 for 1/6 1LB ER4043 at airgas. I see someone is making alot of money.Last edited by cmartman46; 07-19-2009 at 12:47 PM.

Reply:I've used airgas for a while. They charge a hazmat fee for anything that has a MSDS, I believe they call it. The little paper with all the warnings and such. There is usually just the one charge per ordered items. Go figure.I have found the best pricing for filler is online. I wish Airgas would get up to speed with some of there pricing. In todays market we are all trying to be competitive. We have to, to stay in business.
