Reply:Great job. Around here it is 6'8" head room clearance.11b I posted a link in the thread on "calculate stairs".  It will provide some construction detail. However, as SML explained headroom and clocking is very important.

Reply:SML Welder - Putting aside the caliber of the work, you don't powder-coat anyoutside work gloss black, and you have to be most judicious on interior works.  Guaranteed, your stairs showed all the dust it picked up on the road, on it delivery run.  Gloss black shows every finger print, every raindrop, all the dust in the air, and every scratch.  Unless these stairs are feather dusted daily, they cannot maintain their look.  Go with black only if the client absolutely insists.  Powder-coater's, typically, don't market their services well with respect to aesthetics.         Black is available in multiple values from matte to at least 90% gloss.  The lower gloss levels look good longer outside without maintenance than high gloss.   OPUS
