A little background: I'm a full time firefighter, 24 hours on, 48 hours off. I decided to start a little welding gig about a year and a half ago. I've had steady business since I started, but in the last three monthes, I have been running like crazy trying to stay ahead of the game. So far, all my clients have been very happy and I base most of my work off referrals. Here are a few projects that Ive finished, or am working on. Not the best, or most creative, but it is what the clients want, and everyone is happy in the end. The first is a sliding gate with a seperate 6 foot panal that can open if she needs to back a trailor or something in the drive. Second is my most recent, Two electric gates, twisted 1/2 inch with scrolls on top, and a 4 foot side gate. Last is my current project, I have 220 feet of 32 inch high panels with finials. And as soon as I finish these and get them installed, I have 550 feet of 36 inch wrought iron with twist and turns going up a driveway, and around a big deck overlooking a lake. But, just thought I would share. Attached Images

Reply:Pic #1, are you driving around with the regulators on your gas cylinders? If so, no - NO - no - NO - no. As to the welding, well, you didn't show any pics of the welds. Critique of the gates? The second pic with the gate and opener looks like the gate panels don't line up. Might need roller supports at the end of the gates or beef up the hinge/post or align things better or all of the above. The best laid schemes ... Gang oft agley ...
Reply:Looks really good Trentmc. I admire the determination and patience of gate welders, I'm unsure I would be able to handle the repetative nature of it.Well done!Gordhttp://gordsgarage.wordpress.com/ |
