I have a Victor 2400 series Flowmeter (for argon, helium and nitrogen) and the glass tube inside shattered (don't ask).  Do they sell just the glass tube or does it have to be calibrated for the specific reg?  I have seen the plastic dome cover ( so I'm guessing I'm not the only one this has happened too) but not the glass tube inside. I still have the steel ball, don't know if it really matters and can anyone give a price estimate on it?
Reply:Victor does not sell flowmeters with glass tubes any more or replacement glass tubes.   It can be converted, but the parts cost all most as much as a new flowmeter.  If you know the model number I can post a breakdown for your flowmeter.  Or you can send me a PM and I can email the part numbers to you.Hope this helps!OAdoctorwww.regulatortorchrepair.com
Reply:I believe it's a HRV 2380. Does this help. It looks very similar to the newer cutskill ones.I could not tell it was glass untill I dropped it LOL.Last edited by fordtrucks; 08-27-2009 at 12:18 AM.
Reply:Good news and bad.  I do not have a breakdown for the HFV2380, but I do have the HSR2000 (attached).  They both use the same flowmeter, but yours is a two stage regulator, were the HSR2000 is a single stage regulator.  The replacement regulator/flowmeter list for $590.00, so you have a very good reg/flowmeter. This unit is the cadillac of flowmeters.    The parts for the flowmeter part of your unit are not available anymore.  I can retro fit parts to fit but I would have to have the reg/flowmeter.  It would cost $65.00  The other option, is to install a new or rebuilt flowmeter assemble onto the regulator.I have rebuilt flowmeter for $60.00.     With either of these options, you will have to change the delivery pressure of the regulator to match the calabration of the replacement flowmeters.Hope this helps! Reply:Hi AOdoctor, i don't mean to doubt you but i don't think mine is a two stage reg.  There is one on fleebay right now ( http://cgi.ebay.com/VICTOR-HRF2380-R...d=p3286.c0.m14 ) that looks identical to mine, except mine has tons more wear. The one i have also has a sticker under neath it like the one being sold, however mine says " for use with helium, argon and hydrogen gas. They posted some really good pics.
Reply:If your's looks like the one in the link it is not a two stage.  I do not have a breakdown so if the model # of HRV2380 is correct, then I am wrong.  Not afraid to admit it.  Usually the "V" in Victor part number means it is two stage.  The flowmeter parts are the same as the flowmter parts in the breakdown and are not avialable any longer.  You can get a HRF1425 flowmeter for about $70.00 new at most LWS.  It uses a piston to regulator pressure where yours uses a seat and diaphragm. It is a toss up as which way to go.   But I can get the parts if you want them.Let me know if I can help!OAdoctorwww.regulatortorchrepair.com
Reply:Thank you AOdoctor. I really appreciate all your help. I think i will go with a new one. Thank you very much for taking the time to give me options in repairing my unit. I am proud to be part of a community were individuals share their knowledge and take extra steps to help. Thanks again AOdoctor and WW also.
