My naivety may come though in this post so please bear with me.On the Miller Econotig, what size is the fitting for the gas inlet? I just realized the one I bought secondhand did not come with the correct fitting and I have until Saturday the 29th to test and/or return the welder if it does not function.I have a Millermatic 210 that has a gas regulator/flow meter. Unfortunately that is in my shop about 70miles from my home and I won't be with it until Saturday when all the local weld shops are closed. The shop is where I'll be testing the TIG welder. So I'll need to know now if I need to buy a special fitting before I find out on Saturday if my Millermatic setup won't work. Thank you guys for your time, I appreciate it very much. -RobLast edited by MrEquivocal; 08-27-2009 at 11:32 PM.
Reply:I think that the most common gas nut is a 5/8 - 18 RH thread, and I'm pretty sure that a common flare fitting shares that thread. Although the seat could be different, but I think it'll at least seat well enough for a test. I'm not positive on this, but pretty sure.I can compare the fittings and post details tomorrow.Or you could probably search "CGA argon fitting" and find the exact specs to compare with a common flare fitting.Good Luck
