I saw a thread a few weeks ago with the little water ski guy and thought it would make a perfect gift for my mom. I got a little carried away, so it looks like everybody gets little metal guys. The baseball pitcher is for my brother.http://www.flickr.com/photos/5721153...n/photostream/The fisherman is for my grandpa. The water skier is for my momThe batter is for my dad.

Reply:Way cool!!Are they MIG, TIG or Torch?
Reply:All of them are MIG except the Fisherman. It's just flux core wire feed because I ran out of shielding gas.
Reply:I had the same problem the other day. Did a few tacks with little gas. If it's non-structural is that ok?
Reply:I'm not an expert on the matter, but as long as it doesn't matter if it breaks I'd say that you're fine. It just gets really hard to weld without the gas, and you'll get lots of impurities in your weld. If you're happy with the results on whatever you tacked together, I'd say you're alright.

Reply:I like 'em! Little stuff like this is fun to make, huh? And to the real welders, I am fully aware that what I do isn't "real" welding. I have nothing but respect for all ya'll who do the real stuff! Hey,I'm just having fun...(Retired) Professional firefighter, amateur everything else I try to do...Oh yeah: Go Big Red!
