This has been one of the worst frames I have been able to fix so far, first gotta get it (somewhat) straight(er) Most of the time just a bit of a pull and a smack with a mini sledge and they pop back in line. Not this time tho. pull!!!!!!!!This corner was giving me fits. Came to the conclusion that the tube had stretched in 2 spots. So I relief cut it, clamped it to the TIG table, put a little turnbuckle and some chain in for a draw bar, and welded the cuts up. And finished. Ended up having to replace 3 sections and fab up a little angle bracket but its all good in the end. Believe it or not but these stupid little frames run about $700 (government cost) so every one I am able to "save" puts us that much more in the black. My theory is - save the company money = maybe they let me keep my cushy military contractor job
Reply:Like new!Buy American, or don't whine when you end up on the bread line.
Reply:Did you use the $500 dollar (military)  10" level to make sure everything was straight????

Reply:Ha!  Nice try, I was lucky to get a used Lincoln AC Tombstone from a buyout. At least now I can stick weld without using my own machine. City of L.A. Reply:That's really impressive, as good as new. I'd love to see more pics of how you setup to make those pulls. The 5th picture down really got me curious.$700? I think we just figured out our deficit problem. It seems someone has been pocketing an extra $550 a piece.

Reply:It's going to take me a while to wrap my mind around all the awesomeness that I see there. By the next time I need to straighten out a table leg or something like that, I'll be coming back to this thread. In fact, the next time I get to build myself a welding table, I'll use channel like that. Thanks!Last edited by HundredaireSocialite; 12-21-2010 at 11:52 AM.
