Paint welding table base?

If my casters arrive tomorrow, I'm hoping to finish up my little 24" x 32" table.  I was planning on painting the base, but then I was thinking if that was purely a cosmetic motivation, I might skip it.  Now if I was still living in Central Florida, that would be a no-brainer decision - no paint means a rusty mess within six months.  I always had to keep a coat of paste wax on machine table tops or suffer nasty rust.Where we live now, I don't have much of a problem with rust.  The only problem I've had with rust on the table saw was where a drip of water managed to find its way there.So paint or no paint?   (I welded a 3" x 5" tab to a table leg to use for the ground clamp that would of course remain bare)JohnHobart IronMan 230, Miller Diversion 180, Victor O/A, Grizzly G4003g gunsmith latheESAP MiniArc 161LTS, Hypertherm Powermax45, Milwaukee 14" chop saw, etc.

Reply:Paint it!!! I get the rustoleum from home depot by the gallon. I thin it with a little lacquer thinner and spray it and haven't had any problems.  I used red for my table and I think that it looks nice http://weldingweb.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=45095ars sine scientia nihil est

Reply:my personal preference would be 659 cat yellow rustoleum ........everything looks better cat yellow
