Gas and flux-core wire...

I am new to welding and just picked up a MIG/Flux 105 welder and have a question.I bought it used and the previous owner had it setup with a bottle of 75% Argon / 25% CO2.  He wasn't much help in explaining how he had the setup with wire as he had only used it once a few years ago.  The wire spood doesn't have a label on it. My question is...  If he has Flux wire in there, is it going to be bad/dangerous to use the gas with that wire?Thanks for any help,Nick

Reply:The polarity difference between solid and self shielded flux core is going to be an issue here.  The polarity has to be set for whichever wire is on there.Oops, I didn't read Desert Riders last sentence. He has it covered.
Reply:Solid wire is, well, solid....Flux-core will break when you bend it....

Reply:Thanks for all the replies.  I was able to bend the wire 8 or 10 times in the same place and it didn't break.I feel better knowing what's in there.  Nick
