Reply:unless you can test it, don't buy it. $80 for a 110v mig isn't bad. but it's gotta work. and if you can't test it, you don't know if it works, or if it works well.There are no problems. Reply:Well, this is just my 2c worth, but what will it cost you to drive the other 30 miles to see if it works? Presuming he has it set up to work. That's the other unknown. If it can't demonstrated to work, then meet half way and do what you're comfortable with.

Reply:so today the owner of the pro arc mig welder came all the way to me with welder and we hooked it up gas power cord so on flipped the switch and i went at it ...worked flawlessly on 4 inch weld of 1/8 inch steel i guess today was my lucky day he had to come right threw my town for work so he brought it to me and i got it for $60 bucks..to make story even better he had origanal owners manuals and he said his grandfather bought it back in 1985 and never..ever..used it i was the first person to ever weld with it very cool day for me ill post a piclincoln square wave tig 175blue point mb140 mig

Reply:I got my SP170t for $75 off of CL over a year ago.  I had to drive about an hour and half to pick it up, but it worked just like the seller said it would.  Turns out he was a landscape designer who builds iron gates and such for the spendy customers.  He had a nice little business and every ten years or so he'd retool most of his metal working equipment.  Bottom line is, I got extremely lucky on CL form a guy who knew what he had, but realized that the unit paid itself over too many times to count.  He probably could have held off for a few days and got $300+ for it, but it just wasn't his style.  I really admired him for being that way.  He told me he hoped I would keep it for another 10 years and sell it for the same price.  I smiled, but if it's still pushing wire the way it has since I brought it home he's sadly mistaken.  Deals are out there, and even come to you in the strangest way, BUT for every good deal on CL their are 20 scumbags looking to sell you broken **** or make you a part of their Nigerian monarchy simply by giving them your bank account info.  You did good young Grasshopper.
