Hello, I recently bought a Lotos CT520D from a friend; he had not used it in some time and was not aware of its condition.(I think this may be the same as the Everlast CT520D)As it turns out the Plasma Cutting is not working. This is what I know from testing:1) Wired for 110V2) Stick welder works fine.3) The trigger is good I tested it with a VOM.. I tested all the way back to the HF PCB board inside the machine
when I push the trigger it closes the circuit.4) If it take the Tip retainer off the torch head and hold the bear/open tip to a peace of sheet metal that is connected to the ground clamp I do get a good plasma ark. (NOTE: I do not have to have the trigger pushed to get this to happen)5) No air ever comes out of the torch; the pressure is at about 85/90 PSI.I have worked with electronics for a long time and know my way around a PCB but am no expert in plasma cutters. But from what I can tale its not opening the air solenoid and there is no pilot arc
I decided to provide the 24v needed to actuate/open the air solenoid manually hoping that would do the job, well air comes out of the tip but still no plasma spark/cuttingIs there something I can do to test it further
Also there is a GREEN LED on the upper PCB and it is on.. There are other LEDs I see none of them are on.Any help is greatly appreciated!ThanksShane |
