need help hooking up a gas solenoid valve

I just got a Miller Super S-32P S/N LC142164,that did not come with a Gas solenoid valve.I got one from Millerparts for less,and I have it hooked up,but it will not work.I'm running it off of a Miller Trailblazer S/N 1973728745.

Reply:I'll take some this evening,and send them to you.It has two wires coming out of the back of the square plug,looped back into the plug.I cut the wires,and spliced the wires off the solenoid valve to them.I tried everyway I can think of,and still no success.Thanks.
Reply:I sent you a pm and have some pics and a wiring diagram for you, will be easier using email for me. The two jumper wires you cut and spliced the solenoid valve into is not correct. Put the two jumper wires back together. The valve is connected to the other end of the plug and the contactor. Did the kit you installed come with a purge switch? It plugs into plug number 61 located behind the cover above the drive motor. Reply:That's for the reply George.No,the kit didn't come with the purge switch.Do I need it for the Solenoid valve to work?As far as hooking the solenoid valve wires up to the contactor.Do you mean the single lead,that is connected to the bus bar?I have that manual you posted,but thanks anyway.I'll give you a shout this afternoon,when I get off work,and back into the Ridge.Thanks alot,Jim

No, it is optional, but should have been part of the "kit". If you are wanting to add one you will need a DPDT 15 amp 125 volt momentary switch, a little wire and some crimp on connectors.As far as hooking the solenoid valve wires up to the contactor.Do you mean the single lead,that is connected to the bus bar?one wire from the solenoid to the source lead wire (wire going to the power source welder), this gives the s-32p the power it needs to run itself, if you do not have the contactor then it would go the bus bar.I have that manual you posted,but thanks anyway.I'll give you a shout this afternoon,when I get off work,and back into the Ridge.Thanks alot,Jim
