I don't like my welders tied up to a cart with a bunch of stuff on it so I built a different cart for my stuff. I like the freedom of a welder without all the stuff on and around it. I don't mind the plasma on the cart because I don't use it much. Most my stuff is either cut by hand with a hand held grinder or by laser for accuracy I can't get from a plasma. Bumper and tow bar because I am tired of pushing around the engine stand:
Reply:Looks kinda top heavy to me.....zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:I would have put a wide base on that  cart. as Zap said it looks very top heavy almost like if you grabbed a large C clamp or pulled out one of those drawers it would easily fall over onto you. Expanding the base to incorporate some deep side drawers would better distribute the weight to the base of the cart. Maybe adding some side bars to those lower side drawers would also allow you to move all those clamps towrd the base of the cart.Last edited by specter; 03-06-2011 at 12:01 PM.Co-Own CNC shop:Miller :1251 plasma cutter, MaxStar 700 TIG/Stick, & XMT 456 Multiprocess Welder.&  2 Hypertherm HPR260's Plasma CutterSorry I had a bad stroke but now I am back.
Reply:It's not bad. I can push it room to room without a problem. I would have to watch it if I got it in the drive on un even surfaces. I almost put the plasma on the bottom but I prefer it a little higher. I wanted to keep it narrow for storage.I am getting to where a lot of my equipment is on cabinets. With limited space if I need to paint I can empty a room pretty quickly.

Reply:thats the sky scrapper of welding carts! i like having everything on wheels great job!SIN CITY METAL WORKSvisit my YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/user/devvon
Reply:It seems more tall and narrow in the photo.
Reply:looks good, I bet if fits into a tight spot for storage.  Most of my stuff hardly ever gets moved around so I build to fit not to move.  I like it!
Reply:i built a welding cart with wheels.. it hasnt rolled ten feet in five years...
Reply:That's the thing. I need to move the stuff occasionally but not all the time. Usually to either rearrange something, to clean or to empty a room to paint. What I don't want it all this stuff hanging on my welding cart.
Reply:This is a heater box I built this past weekend:
