Dad got a toy in the mail to help build ramp with little helpers

While the weather is nice i started building a ramp wth my son to be able to get my Harley into the shed. We already had started cutting parts with the chop saw but today i got my new toy in the mail so i clamped it down to the table and let the kids try to cut some angle. They didnt budge it but i tried and it cuts nice. I wll post more pics as the project gets done. already have the next project in mind for a mount to place the cutter to the table when  go to use it. Reply:i have 4. 3 boys and a little girl. these two love to watch me work. we should have the frame all cut out tomorrow then hopefully tacked in. im letting my son weld some. i gave him my first welding helmet got him some gloves and bought him a welding cap to go with it. he already wore it to school.If you like my stuff you can find me on Facebook.  https://www.facebook.com/theangryanv...ngryanvilforge

Reply:Didn't have any welding gear or a place to use it when my girls were at home, but they were curious about anything mechanical I worked on - from replacing a doorknob to changing the oil on a car.  I sent both off to college with a tool kit (hammer, pliers, screwdrivers, adjustable wrench, etc).  They were always popular with the other girls in the dorms - nobody else had anything to hang a picture or fix a bicycle.I started the granddaughters a lillte sooner - they each got a toolbelt (kid sized but functional tools + safety glasses) and a birdhouse kit fior Christmas when they were 5 and 7, respectively (plus a couple of hours of my time to build and paint the birdhouses.)Don't know if either will be mechanically inclined when older, but my older daughter got her Master's in enigineering at GA Tech.I now have hobby welding equipment, but the granddaughters are a few years too young to use it.
