I run 0.035 wire in my Mig.  I think its about time for a new liner, and I was wondering what size would be best.  One size is for 0.023 - 0.035, and the other is for 0.035 to 0.045.  I understand that technically both should work but will one work better than the other?  I.E, is it better for the wire to be tighter in the liner, or have a little more wiggle room?Miller 250x & Lincoln V205-TSmith Oxy-Prop torch
Reply:Well since you have a 250 class machine I would go with the .035-.045 liner just in case you ever want to run larger wire. If you think you might want to run some .023 wire on autbody one day then go with the smaller liner. It all depends on what kind of projects you tend to work with.If you cannot convince them, confuse them.         Harry S Truman
Reply:The smaller liner will work best for the .035 wire.  The tighter the liner fits the less the wire can 'snake' inside the liner.  Snaking can lead to poor feed speed consistency.MM350P/Python/Q300MM175/Q300DialarcHFHTP MIG200PowCon300SMHypertherm380ThermalArc185Purox oaF350CrewCab4x4LoadNGo utilitybedBobcat250XMT304/Optima/SpoolmaticSuitcase12RC/Q300Suitcase8RC/Q400Passport/Q300Smith op
