Borax for Brazing FLux

Can you use borax as brazing flux? I've got some gas welding rods that the flux broke off of. Thanks

Reply:I used to use Borax mixed with denatured alcohol for a flux on gold repairs, dont see why it wouldnt work for brazing. SQUARE WAVE 175 TIG   DUAL MIG 151
