I am all for helping you guys out with all of your tig 101 question but i think most of it could be consolidated into one sticky thread,
Reply:No they should not make it a sticky. They need to make a search function sticky followed be read the instructions sticky.
Reply:search function AND finding someone local who can show you the ropes would be very helpful.
Reply:I love this forum and I am grateful for it. Besides trying to naively stick things together with my year old (to me) TIG, I am an old school hot rodder messing with flathead Fords. On another forum that I visit daily, there are always new guys asking dumb questions about flatheads. To some, I suggest the "search" function and to others that just rub me the wrong way, I ignore. It only takes a few seconds on this new fangled internet to dump on someone, help them with advice, or ignore. As I age, I find that I am moving away from the "dumping on someone" mode and choosing from the other two options that I mentioned. All in all, it really does not bear a whole lot of attention from me either way. Thanks again to this forum and all those who have provided knowledge to me.Hobby welder with MIG, stick and gas experience. Just got a Miller 250 TIG that I hope to use with some degree of expertise someday
Reply:so you for or against my suggestion? I want to make it clear that I don't mind helping out and want everybody to get the info that they came for but a lot of it gets covered on a weekly basis.
Reply:I think a sticky with the basic questions would be great. I am not a big question asker I use the search function a LOT but there are some things that are just hard to find when you have 47 pages of content to go through to find what is the best kind of tungsten to buy for a hobbyist. |
