Ran across this, but have no idea what it is or what it's for. It is a smallish box (like a short arc stabilizer box) with 6 female lead terminals in two rows of 3..Three across the top and 3 more across the bottom..numbered 1-2-3-4-5-6 ,it has a male lead in the back that I assume plugs into a welder. Anyone know what it might be for? It just says Forney Spot Arc Control on the frontLast edited by mudbugone; 02-12-2010 at 08:46 AM.
Reply:Miller used to make spot weld attachments for FCAW and GMAW. I found it to be a very useful tool for fitting and tack. I would suspect this is the same type of equipment, but I have never seen a unit by Forney.
Reply:I emailed Forney last night and received the following this morning.... FAST!"Well, we didn't know either until we dug into a stack of 50 year oldliterature! That unit was designed to adapt Forney welder current to spotweldingamp/voltage ratios.Neither that unit, nor the spot arc gun that went with it or any partsfor either have been available for at least 35 years."If I find something you can bet it's obsolete...even if it looks new.I'll post a pic of it for visuals...it's on ebay for $4.95 I'm going to pass, but maybe someone else might want it.Forney was going to send a manual if I had the gun that goes with it.http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...E:B:EF:US:1123Last edited by mudbugone; 02-12-2010 at 01:59 PM. |
