Guys - I was having a problem with unit running wide open. Sent out the main board to a good electronics guy on the mainland. (I'm on an island and have very few resources here).$325.00 repair to board. Looks like he practically rebuilt the whole thing... Looks great.I installed it back into the 300.... took my time and did it right.Problem is, machine is still running wide open... No amperage control.Fighting a deadline for a good customer... Hate to lose any work these days. Any thoughts, suggestions are VERY welcome! Thanks!Last edited by Franco Micciche; 11-28-2012 at 04:12 AM.Reason: Needed clarification
Reply:I have the same problem on my Squarewave 275. Took it in for repair and the tech said: pc board, shunt, reohstat for amp control, or loose connection between the 3. This is before his diagnosis, just most common problems. I'm still waiting to hear back from him.any possibility for you to rent a welder to finish job?Last edited by dubl_t; 11-28-2012 at 11:02 AM.Lincoln SA 200Esab Caddy 160Thermal Arc 201TSMiller Dialarc HFI don't like making plans for the day because then the word "premeditated" gets thrown around the courtroom....

Reply:Thanks guys! - Have tried both selections, remote & panel, without any results.Am gonna bite the bullet and drive 2 hours north tomorrow with the board, back to the tech who worked on it the other day. He said he's willing to look at it again. - Keeping my fingers crossed that there's a bad solder or something..... Ugh!Please feel free to keep throwing out suggestions .... 'cuz until it's truly operational, my ability to pay the rent is in severe jeopardy.Happy holidays to all of ya!!!
Reply:Franco,I'm guessing you checked all the connectors in that circuit? Maybe somebody here knows how to check the shunt?Could you connect an ohmeter to the Amp rheostat and check it?Lincoln SA 200Esab Caddy 160Thermal Arc 201TSMiller Dialarc HFI don't like making plans for the day because then the word "premeditated" gets thrown around the courtroom....
