i have a bunch of tanaka eqiupment i got in a trade and it includes what seems like a realy nice older cutting torch. are tanaka cutting torches any good and are they worth anything ? if so what does one normally retail for?
Reply:If they are working and you can find tips they are worth a little more than thier scrap value.  They are made in Asia, I think Japan, and I have not been able to find a source for parts to repair them.OAdoctorwww.regulatortorchrepair.com
Reply:Hello kcpets, not sure of it's worth, but I believe it uses Airco style tips so they should be readily available. I base my tip suggestion on a 4-head Tanaka machine torch that a company I worked for had years back.aevald
Reply:I have Tanaka tips in stock here in Long Beach CA. These are for Tanaka cutting torches and attachments sold in the USA during the early '80s through wholesale clubs like Sam's etc.The machine torch tips are not quite the same as Airco tips, but close. If Airco tips have been used in them, the heads have probably been distorted, so continue to use Airco tips. If not, as I say, I've got '[email protected] MarketDyne Tanaka LLC
