Okay i bought a Canox Sparkler second hand. it came with a 3 prong power plug, however my outlet is a 4 prong plug. i know exactly what to do on how to wire it i've read about it online and got all the info. The original wire size on the welder seems like 6 awg RED and BLACK hot wires and GREEN gound. I want to do this safely, so.. Is it safe to convert to a 8/4 plug 250V.40A. Or do i have to get a 6/4 plug. Here is the info about the welder. Attached Images
Reply:Better stay with the #6 . If you are a normal human you will at some time run it wide open for a while and burn the #8 up. Mac
