Welding a Main Splice on a Bridge

So I got called out from my shop today to weld a main splice on a bridge. Took some pics from my cell phone. Too bad I didn't have my phone on me when I was at the top welding. 15 plus welding passes later. Vertical up with and with out weave. Used fluxcore mig. Attached Images

Reply:hey man this weird i was cruisin the site and here i find a picture of the bridge i was workin on.... the welds r just U.T. tested so as long as the welds solid its all good... the splice i did in the middle all ready passed im sure it all will be fine in the end....cool pic....
Reply:That is weird, who are you? haha I heard today that the U.T. was going well. Hope I'm allowed to post the pic? I see its in the local paper so I cant see it being an issue. It will look cool when the concrete deck is laid.

Reply:Isn't that the truth! As if the world didnt seem small already lol.The guys got drenched in the rain today. Thats why I like the shop lol.  Looking good though.
Reply:what bridge is this one? If it is the one I'm thinkin of I may know the shop that built it.I'm currently working in a shop that is doing all the steel for the new Portmann Bridge. Heavy stuff! 22 ton girders right now but they get bigger and heavier as we go! Pretty basic stuff, just big!

Reply:The weld was on the arch near the top (big white pipe) The arc was formed in 3 pieces per side. We also have welded on the bridge.

Reply:We used dual shield with 100% CO2. Worked out quite well. I will see if I can get closer shots next time Im down there. Im not usually on site.
