One of the guys I share a shop with wanted a stand for his 4x6 bandsaw. He wanted the saw to be more stable and easy to roll around ( we have a small shop). He also didn't want to spend as much as I did on my bandsaw base. http://weldingweb.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=53951The factory base on his saw was in pretty good shape so I decided just to build a frame and add casters.I used 1-1/2 " angle, and made the frame 3" longer than the base. I made the feet 2" wider on each side and used casters with treaded stems. My local caster supplier had some casters that someone ordered and didn't pick up so I got them pretty cheap.I bolted the saw to the base and it made everything really rigid. It came out pretty well, it's very steady when used as a vertical saw with all 4 wheels locked. It also raised the saw up about 4" so it's easier on the back.Last edited by CamW; 04-29-2011 at 02:19 PM.
