i recently purchased a box of miscellanous welding stuff from someone for 100 bucks, in it were 2 concoa and 2 airco cutting torches, 2 with strait head and 2 with a slightly angled head. along with various cutting tips. ive used victor style torches all my career so wanted some input on these. they seem like a solid, heavy industrial type cutting head. large corn cob looking handles and a trigger finger oxygen control.
Reply:I prefer Victor but I worked at various job shops that had Airco torches and they worked fine. I never used Concoa torches but spent five years at a production shop that used the regulators and flow meters which work fine.
Reply:They are the same thing, when AIRCO went out Concoa took over there torches.Disclaimer; "I am just an a$$hole welder, don't take it personally ."
Reply:Concoa purshased Airco gas equipment in the mid 80's it is very good equipment, but expensive to repair. It does not hold up to abuse very well.OAdoctorwww.regulatortorchrepair.com
Reply:so carrying one on my service truck might not be the best idea? i think ill just keep em around for home use. thanks guys.
Reply:dieselmudder...CONCOA equipment is very durable and well made. It is also very reliable. One thing to take into consideration is what level of abuse the product is taking out in the field. Naturally, like anything else, if it is pushed over its intended limit then it will fail. My suggestion is that if you find that you are in need of repair parts, first, make sure the facility is a CONCOA authorized repair facility. Secondly, contact CONCOA directly and they can put you in touch with a local distributor who can answer all your questions directly. http://www.concoa.com/newcontact.html. |
