Hi all,Does anybody know of any good sites that compare/ review welding machines? I am looking to buy a new TIG machine, but think it might be worth getting one of the new multi process machines. I've seen the Everlast, Longevity and Thermadyne ones, but haven't really been able to compare them as closely as I would like.So if anyone knows a site or two they can give me...PLEASE LET ME KNOW!! Or if you have any of these machines let me know how you like it.

Reply:For anyone that is interested:I found a link that has welder reviews and allows you to compare different machines side by side. (see Below)This seems like a pretty good resource, but if anyone knows of some others please let me know. Here is the link: welder reviewsThanks

Reply:This site has a wealth of information, and some posters have their preferences based on varying levels of objectivity. Some is disdain, some is objective observation and / or experience. That said, the most common argument you will find is the imports offering more for less have issues with unit to unit quality control, less long term track record in both equipment and the company itself, and probably the largest issue is availability of parts and turn around time for service, in warranty or not.Therein lies the dilema: the allure of the lower cost up front compared to the higher cost of the more established big names. I too agonize over the debate between you get what you pay for vs. you pay more for the name.Lincoln AC/DC 225/125 and WP17. 75A AC is for pipe thawing!HH 140 - new addtion 9/2012.I didn't agree, but hoped for Hope and Change.I got change for myself and my family: for the worse. This is the reality of: Barackalypse Now. Reply:About a year ago I did a lot of research on multi-process welders. Miller XMT, Lincoln Powerwave, ESAB Aristo, and Fronius TPS. All of these machines are quality, and have matching price tags.I don't know much about plasma welders, and especially not combos.  Fronius has a plasma module that attaches to their TIG machines, but you really don't want to hear the price tag on them.I have not been able to find a good review site, but then I'm not looking for reviews of Everlasting or Longevity. Some distributed sites can do decent job of side by sides for miller Lincoln and Esab, such as oxyserve.com  or at least they used to. Been a while since I've been there and they rebuilt their site.I have been slowly building a spreadsheet for personal and professional reasons, you might want to do something similar. Find info on the machines you are looking at and throw that info into the sheet. Then do a compare and contrast of your own.138# anvilHomebuilt 6 tap kegerator100# cone anvil5" post viceVarious hammers ranging from 250g to 2000gSome tongsA few screwdriversA wrench or twoOh, and a Fronius TPS 2700
