Some of you will remember the camper frame I converted to a utility trailer.  Well, I finally got around to building a set of ramps for it.  The only new steel I bought was one stick of 2x2x 1/8" angle, which I used all of. The rest is some jr I beam I salvaged from a wrecked semi trailer (same stuff I used for trailer x-members), and some 2x2 thin wall tubing that was trash picked from an un-named, wasteful, state sponsored university.  A couple of random bits out of my stock thrown in for tabs, etc. I probably have about $50.00 in them if you count the sand I used cleaning up the I beams, and a few lbs. of rods. Pic 1, Nesting cuts on the angle Pic 2, One whole stick, including waste. (Close enough for the girls I go out with.)Pic 3, Side view of ramp.( Note the boards underneath. More on that later.)Pic 4, Close up of how ramp lands on trailer.More next post. Attached Images
Reply:Pic 1 and Pic 2:  Ramps can be spaced anywhere on the back of the trailer from touching each other to all the way out. Pic 3  Clearance with my little tractor. Deck touches but does not hang up. Note the space between the "leg" and the driveway.Pic 4 Clearance with a jeep. The ramp is now on the ground. I got lucky with my guess on how long to make them. Remember the boards? With them under, The trailer suspension squatted too much when the front wheels of the jeep hit the deck, causing the connection to try to come apart. Without the boards the transiton is real smooth.  I may consider pinning the ramp to the trailer for loading anything heavier than a jeep. Attached Images
Reply:I doubt that I will haul these like this unless I have to, but I can stack them at any stake pocket location and take only a foot of deck space. With the binder cranked down they don't budge. Attached Images

Reply:Very nice and neat! If you are interested in keeping them on the trailer so they just fold up and down like mine here, let me know. I can take a bunch of pics how they're attached."Where's Stick man????????" - 7A749"SHHHHHH!!
