So I got this welder for basically nothing a couple of months ago and am just now getting around to trying it out. Other than striking the arc, I'm feeling pretty good about it but wanted to see what y'all thought. I ran about 4 sticks through today. I got a box of old 1/8 6011 rods. I also bought some 7018 when I actually start joining things, but the 6011 is fun to burn up and learn on.The 3 beads on top were done w/power at the 120 setting, the bottom two were at 135. Reply:Anyone? Come on, let me have it!
Reply:No too bad. The V pattern says you are moving too fast. The ( pattern says that you are moving about right. Get a piece of 3/8"x4"x6" or 2 and start stacking beads to get hood time and you'll improve a lot in a short time.Millermatic 200Hobart Handler 120Victor O/A & Ramco BandsawLincoln 225 ACSnapOn AD HoodMiller XMT304/22AHypertherm Powermax 1650 G3Lincoln Idealarc DC600 w/Extreme 12 VSMiller Digital Elite "Joker"
Reply:Thanks! I was wondering about that, also thought maybe it was because I had too much of an angle.
