A 12' x 5'-9" cattle feeder made from a bunch of used stuff.The only new parts are the feeder panels and 1 hitch pin.The frame was cut down from a mobile home frame, most of the bits and pieces were scrap items saved by the owner including the expanded metal floor.It was a little bit of a pain working with used stuff since I had to grind past the paint, rust and galvanizing to get to clean metal. The owner is one of my best customers and is very happy with it, especially since his only out of pocket expenses are the panels, hitch pin and 30 gallons of off road diesel fuel.We swapped my labor for him bringing his track hoe and spending a couple of days clearing brush and grading the area in front of the bay doors at my shop. He did a great job, too. Now even on the worst rainy days I can get around outside on the forklift without getting stuck.Start with one piece of mobile home frame with axles, add a couple of cross members made from c purlin.Flip it over to add some bracing and brackets for the removable tow bar.Flip it back up right to add some more angle supports for the expanded metal floor, and finish up the landing gear.Put 4 pieces of 1-1/2" hot rolled round bar on each corner for the side panels to slide down over, then put down the expanded metal floor.It's miller time! Or I guess it's supper time for the beef that's still on the hoof.
