Reply:Weak engineering. Looking at the way the japanese make their frames from paper thin steel I am not surprised to see this. Looking at it from another angle, I am sure that most folks have no access to someone with your skills so most buy a new jug.MLM
Reply:nice repair!
Reply:most likely the cylinder will have to be bored to the next size over because of deformation in the cylinder after the repair, check with a dial bore gage to check to see if the cylinder is still round and straight.

Reply:It has been my experience that hot air cooled motors and deep water or mud crossings dont mix well. Turned a corner in my Karmann Ghia once and found myself in a foot deep pool of runoff. Heard a disgusting ping /crack sound and I knew I had cracked a head. Never drove through that parking lot again. Anyway, in all fairness , maybe it was user related and not bad engineering.......MLM |
