I'm troubleshooting a gas problem with my MM250X and am now fighting a new problem. I picked up this machine second hand and it had a 12" section of the whip right below the gun that was damaged. I took it apart and cut out the damaged section and reassembled. My biggest problem was getting the connector tight on the power conductors as they enter the gun. The 10 pounds of $($&@$)$ in a 5 pound bag analogy comes to mind. Now that I have taken it apart again I found only about half of the 12 wires stayed connected. I need to do this the right way this time. What is the trick to get these wires in the connector and stay long enough to get the connector tight? I've about had it between the gas issue and these wires...I'm thinking about dropping the cash on a new lead. Any recommendations if I look for new? I don't need 100% duty at 200A but don't want imported crap either.
Reply:The connection I'm fighting with - You can also see one of the O rings from the supply side has a small chunk missing, it has a matching chunk missing on the opposite side. Not sure if that is enough to interrupt my gas supply, but I'm fighting with a gas problem that induces quite a bit of porosity. Not enough to be a complete gas loss, but like insufficient gas.

Reply:Turns out the "trick" is $266 for a new 15' M-25 gun.... Didn't want to drop the cash on that, but she sure lays down pretty beads now.

Maybe keep it in mind for the future.Sometimes the ease of use buying something new rather than trying to make something hacked up & junk work is worth spending the extra money on.In most cases trying to go it on the cheap just creates frustration & more problems, as I'm sure you found out. Good luck with the new gun.IMHO of course
