Need help I dont know what kind of tig torch and so on that i need to tig with my multimaster any help? I know i need a remote moduel and foot pedal but dont know what kind of torch
Reply:We have a bunch of MM260s.We don't buy the expensive, annoying stock ESAB torch setup with the snag-prone parallel cable and gas line. You don't need the remote control option or pedal for scratch-start.http://www.scottgrossstore.com/servl...-Module/Detailhttp://www.scottgrossstore.com/servl...trol%2C/DetailAdd those goodies if you like, but you can TIG right away with a basic setup. We switch students between MIG/TIG/stick all the time and that's the way to go:http://weldingweb.com/vbb/showthread.php...ht=scratch+tigWe use Radnor WP-17 torch/cable setups (about 75 bucks each), the power block is a few dollars, and get the green argon hose and reusable clamp-on argon fittings instead of a crimped hose you can't easily shorten when it gets damaged. We switch students between MIG/TIG/stick all the time and that's the way to go.Link to ESAB literature download library. I'll let you dig for the manual so you can see how they "organize" their site. This comes in handy later. Trust me. http://www.esabna.com/us/en/support/downloads/index.cfmI went to http://scottgross.com/WeldingMachines.htmfor the ESAB cable I just ordered, and they beat our LWS even though we are just down the road from ESAB in Florence. No tax plus drop shipping is nice. Call them and ask for the item you want by ESAB part number from your manual.Last edited by farmall; 05-12-2010 at 06:55 PM.

Reply:I have a MM 260 and love it. I also use the Radnor WP-17 torch. I bought my foot pedal from SSC controls in Cleveland, OH, If I remember correctly it was about $175. Here is their contact.Jim MollSSC Controls Co.440-205-1600Do not go where the path may lead, instead go where there is no path and leave a trail.
Reply:ESAB Tweco MIG gun conversion I'll put this here so other users will find it:We have  mixed fleet of Red, Blue, and Yellow MIGs. There is great benefit to making Tweco/Tweco #4 style 400-amp guns the standard because they are tough and generic consumables save money. Various guns use the #4 backend so there are plenty of choices. The Lincoln 255 and 350s take the #4s as standard, the Miller feeders work with Tweco adapter kits, but the MM260s pose a problem. They use NAS (swaps with Tweco #4) backends but the trigger lead connection on the MIG gun has the two blade connectors positioned so they don't fit a Tweco plug.Tweco doesn't supply a premade wire, but they are very easy to make.Buy a Hubbell HBL7465V plug. (I like genuine Hubbells, they are very well made.) About 20 bucks, or unscrew the one from your ESAB cable.Buy a Tweco blade connector/cable or snip off the end you don't need from one for a different welder or feeder:"Tweco AK-354-Stock Number 2642-2400-Control Wire Assembly - Standard Kits (24”)"Airgas is my source for those, but there are plenty of ways to get Tweco parts.Install plug on Tweco cable (polarity doesn't matter), connect between gun and welder, and enjoy. This Hubbell fits many L-tec/Linde/ESAB applications past and current, including Migmaster 275.ESAB guns are very well made, but the world is full of Twecos and Tweco-style guns.Last edited by farmall; 05-20-2010 at 06:46 PM.
