i made some forks for the tractor last week and wonted so thoughts on it. i used 7018 mig at 280 amps. hey are fully adjustable and cost less than $100 and 3 hours to make. and they will hold more than the tractor can pick up, i picked up a 1200lbs water tank and a 1991 toyota truck with no problems. 1 the bars are 3/4*4*612 the plates are 3/8*6*163 the plates that the pins go though are 3/8*~5*16 they are cut at and angle at the bottom to keep them for hitting, as same as the stock bucket4 there are some 1 1/2*1/2*37 that are welded on the back of the main bars to give them support. Reply:Looking good, are you on any of the tractor forums?   If not, PM me and I'll give you a list.  I'm sure some of the guys/gals would love to see your work, if you're inclined to post on them.
Reply:thanks for the comments.  i did not wont it to weigh more than it had to. my bad that was 6010 wire i used, i was going to use 7018 rods but changed my mind. i guess it is rednecked but i could not afford to buy a new one, and it works a lot better to move hay bails than a bucket.Last edited by snakedoc; 06-13-2011 at 09:43 AM.

Reply:Did you have to chip slag?My name's not Jim....
Reply:i would like you to consider one modification .put a 2 foot rod where you have the number 1.if you move enough hay eventually one will roll over onto the tractor.other than that it looks great.
Reply:no. it was not flux core
Reply:i though about that but the plane on moving them was to get the forks wide and get it low of the center on both sides, but i might add it.
