Found a giant steel buoy today at the scrapyard (about 7' tall). Looks to be a great couple of large firepits or leave as is for the interesting factor. It is definitely hollow. I rolled it around and it sounded like steel on steel scratching the inside. It also has a few large dents.Does anyone know if these things are filled with any non-inert gases? I am super paranoid about cutting into unknown closed containers. Thanks,-GrantLast edited by gd85; 07-01-2010 at 07:36 PM.Reason: repeated word

Reply:I built marking bouys for the Gulf in 2003. The ones we built were not filled with anything, just a large empty space. Try what skywest said, I'll be surprised if there is any pressure present.Only when the last tree has died and the last river has been poisoned and the last fish has been caught will we realize we cannot eat money. -Cree Indian ProverbSA 200 LincolnVictor Torches
Reply:There may be no intentional pressure, but expect it to blow or suck some air because of any changes in barametric pressure.Dynasty200DX w/coolmate1MM210MM VintageESAB miniarc161ltsLincoln AC225Victor O/A, Smith AW1ACutmaster 81IR 2475N7.5FPRage3Jancy USA1019" SBAEAD-200LE |
