I was wondering if anyone here has a recommendation as to where I can find information on backhoe bucket hanger plates. One of my clients has asked me to fabricate a "cribbing style" bucket for his backhoe, only problem is I can't seem to locate the hanger brackets or a CAD file for them so I can get them cut out on a plasma table. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Reply:In CA I use cutting edge supply, I don't know if they do work back east or not.  If you go to a rental yard you should be able to measure the buckets. They are pretty standard , and the pin to pin measurement is pretty forgiving. I'm not sure what you mean by a cribbing style bucket.  You may be able to get an old bucket and salvage the mounts, because they usually fail at the lips and edges.  In any case a rental yard would steer you in the direction of where to get bucket parts.
Reply:I just googled "backhoe bucket parts" and there were several companies that sell the parts.  I have made them in the past for backhoe attachments without too much problems.
Reply:Genalco, call them with your needs. I have been using them for years, they have everything.Disclaimer; "I am just an a$$hole welder, don't take it personally ."
Reply:What make machine are you looking for? I agree with the other fello I have gone to rental yards and took measurements. When you say cribbing bucket are you referring to a 9 inch wide bucket used for digging in between R&R tracks? I built a bucket like at and I used the measurements form a 24” wide digging bucket he already had. I used the same pin setting / angle and found when digging it would curl up enough. Because bucket was so narrow the loose material would fall out easier. Where I am located we have several dealers and I have gone to a Case and Cat dealer and got the factory specs.  The Cat dealer even gave me a drawing from a parts book with angles, pin diameters and correct angles (it would have been easier to do it the first time). I use AR plate for the sides and wear strips on bottom of bucket. Hope this helps
Reply:Here is the link,http://www.genalco.com/  I also have had luck with these guys, http://www.jordanequipment.com/Disclaimer; "I am just an a$$hole welder, don't take it personally ."
Reply:Thanks everyone. In doing more research today, the cost of the materials is more than what my client would pay for his attachment from a mfg. Looks like this project is going bye bye!
