A friend brought over a Lincoln 225 to see if I could fix it as it wouldn't run. After finding a loose wire I noticed the welder had 25 foot leads of number four gauge wire.Isn't that kind of light wire for a welder that can weld at 225 amps. Shouldn't it have #2 wire or smaller for the leads?

Reply:I would have #2 on it. Miller recommends #2 for up to 50' at 250 amps.

Reply:As others have said, the #4 is fine. "Hey I didn't come to look and learn, I came to turn and burn.... If I can't light up, I'm gonna light out!"-JodyIdealarc 250 "Fatman"MM 252MM 211 "Little boy" Victor Torches |
