I read somewhere that some of the first AC inverters were esentially two DC inverters in one that switch back and forth during operation. My quetsion is, has anyone got to seperate DC inverter welders and rigged them in some way shape or form so that they esentially act as an AC inverter?Bit of a long shot i know but hey if its possible!
Reply:It could be done with Some electronics to manage the square wave. But you need to know what you are doing otherwise you are more than likely going to electrocute yourself.
Reply:There additional items you didn't mention like gas control for the torch, remote amperage control, adj frequency, pulser and ability to run stick. I would think by the time you add up all the cost of the tools and supplies along with the welders, it would be cheaper just to buy a good name brand AC/DC inverter. |
