This is the first of two CJ2A's I am building. This one is the truck version. ( The other will stay mostly stock.) It started off with a frame I bought.Found out later it is a '60 CJ5 frame that someone extended the middle 2 feet and added 30 inches to the rear.I cut the 30 inches of the rear...I had a very rotted out CJ2A tub, so I did a test fit.I cleaned up the frame and added 33 inch tires that I had...Here it is sitting next to the stock CJ2A frame...Here is the tub that I am using...The floor is already cut out to be used in the one behind it.Here it is now.Everything is loosely fitted so I can get a rough idea of where I need to put the hat channels.I am using a small Lincoln to piece the body together and recycling as much as I can off the 2A tub.Progress is slower then I want but hopefully will start picking up when the weather gets nicer out.'96 Cherokee 33's'02 Liberty '47 CJ2A'47 CJ2A truck

Reply:Updates. Also finished the other rear corner.Unfortunately the tubing in the welding gun had a pin hole and was crimped badly. ( I bought the welder used.) Have not searched yet but does anyone know where I can get replacement tubing? (3/1 3x5 ) I really do not want to spend the $$$ on a new gun if I can avoid it.'96 Cherokee 33's'02 Liberty '47 CJ2A'47 CJ2A truck |
