Burt (username: wb4rt) hosted another GA welding workshop today, and it was awesome. The most awesome thing, for me, was that Dawson (username: I'm not sure) brought a big box full of aluminum drops and all the filler rod we could melt, and let everybody go to town on his TIG welder. I had only touched a TIG torch once before today, so going straight to aluminum was quite a leap, but with somebody else donating the consumables, I had nothing to lose. Much thanks to Dawson for his generosity, and also for the time he spent giving everybody tips on how to do it better.

Reply:hey SquirmyPug,I posted some pictures on the thread in Announcements:http://weldingweb.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=259421I thought it was a great day. Good guys who all helped each other and took turns practicing. Everyone seemed to get a lot better by the end of the day, but still a long way from what Dawson (bassboy1) does.A big shout out to Dawson for sharing his expertise and providing materials, etc.!!!Burt _____________________Miller Syncrowave 250Millermatic 211Miller 375 Plasma Cutter Hobart Handler 12010FtDrillBit.com |
