Just got the Torchmate up and running, and am very pleased with the performance right out of the box. A little more practice and time with the program, and set up and cut time should speed up. Fairly easy to use for beginners, like myself. Attached ImagesMiller Synchrowave 180 SDLincoln PowerMig 255Hypertherm Powermax 45Torchmate 2x2Victor O/A

Reply:looks good..could you post a program cutting a 2" circle with the kerf offset to the outside and a 2x2 square with the kerf offset to the outside and post the program here on the forum..  i want to see what the programs look like for the torchmate.   the burny controller i been messing with uses an m14 and m15 for torch height control and generally the programs are written in incremental (G91), probably to make nesting simpler.. what software are you using to generate code?tackleexperts.comwww.necessityjigs.comhttps://www.facebook.com/groups/mach...dingequipment/

Reply:brucerLike Legacy says, the torchmate tables use their own driver software program. I use the full version of torchmate cad for all my designing.JasonLincoln Idealarc 250 stick/tigThermal Dynamics Cutmaster 52Miller Bobcat 250Torchmate CNC tableThermal Arc Hefty 2Ironworkers Local 720
Reply:i too have been wondering about the programing on the torchmates I run all auto cad at work and school for the laser and water jets. But I would like to get a little torchmate at home to help speed up some of my work and make some more money!
Reply:Maybe that's what I could do ...I'm a burnt out programmer who has been working in metal for fun - you can hold what you build not have it just be ones and zeroes that nobody sees.So there is software to control the movements of a thing (the TorchMate I gather) that moves in 2 dimensions and holds your cutting torch or plasma cutter?  Sound like more fun.  Would some kind person leave a link to this thing? What a great tool since cutting by hand is extremely hard for me to do without a whole mess of clean up required.snoeproe: making moose (mooses as my kids say for fun) must be northern Ontario thing since I also made a moose that now lives on top of the bar in South River, Ontario (read middle of nowhere but still south of an enormous amount of land.)Enjoy your new tool Legacy and I hope you can make a living to buy more.Miller Syncrowave 180SDLincoln WeldPak 100 with gasHandheld Milwaukee BandsawO/A Cutting Torch
Reply:Legacy, Your killing me !  Quit being selfish by playing with your new torchmate and post more pics of what you have cut out. I am glued to this thread because I want to get a cnc myself. I am curious how easy it has been for you to get up and running. Keep us in the loop. Thanks, Travis
Reply:I'm definitely interested in how you have it set up and what (if any) hangups you had getting it running.  I have been looking at one myself.  Seems like it would make short work of custom tabs and mounts and what not, along with endless other possibilities.

Reply:So it was pretty easy to figure out with no cad experience?  I'm looking to get one, but it would definitely be the start of my learning curve.  Is there anything else you needed besides the computer and plasma cutter?
