Made a few of these out of 1/4" rod. 10" long and the ID of the horseshoe is 1" - fits perfectly around the top tube on the black plastic edging I've got. Horseshoe is welded to the main stake with a MIG bead down each side and then some short beads to join the two across the top and bottom. Attached Images
