Got the chance over the weekend to build some IC pipes for an AE86. Space was a bit of an issue to fit 3" pipes into this setup, but had to make it work. He still has a bit of work to get this car at 100%, but everything should be ready to rock soon.Keep Fresh Boys!

Reply:I had to do a very similar job a while back... 3" stainless tubing for NA exhaust post collector pipe. I found that If I drew out the pattern using parallel line development and then transferred those marks to a pre bent piece I got less definition between the gores. If you use a pre bent section to cut your gores from you can cut them all the same size and you will already know the number of gores needed to make the angle you want. Tiny bit of hammer and dolly work (or sometimes none) you can make it look like it was born that way. Good work though man. did you purge or use flux? |
