Reply:I had that machine, and it's a 29 amp unit on 120 volt power. Putting a SL-60 one torch on it improved it by 100 % Talking to the Thermal guy that use to run the whole deal over there.Said the factory torch had the smallest kerf of any torch they have ever made. Reply:About 3 weeks ago I sent a link to a craigslist listing to a buddy for a hypertherm 30 for $400 which he got for like $350.That cutter is over priced, keep looking.
Reply:Well I bought this unit and happy with it. The link is now gone but its a Thermal Dynamics Pak Master 38 XL. Nice guy, he did not know it had 220v capability. He had it ready to demo for me on a rusty piece of 5V tin and tips and cup were shot. He sputtered to get it going then I pulled out my consumables, scrap 14 ga, 1/4" aluminum, 1/4" SS, and 1/2" HRS. Had a wire plug adapter ready to go. Demo' ed really well and was happy to get it for $500. I already had a handful of consumables which is one reason I went this route.Overall happy to have a 3/8" rated machine for this price.
