Alright, i have decided to build my own splitter after much research and tire kicking. Here is what i have figured.http://www.northerntool.com/shop/too...&fromPg=headerHonda 160cc GX seriesHaldex 11gpm 2 stage pumpNortrack 3000psi 4x24 cylinderPrince detent splitter valveHydraulic filter assy.Couplings and bracket for engine to pump.$842.00i know i need hoses, fittings and a few misc parts, but does this look about right as far as specs?I did consider a 200cc Honda and a 16gpm pump, is it worth it?Thanks for looking this over before i pull the trigger on the parts.I will keep you updated on the build.Last edited by moose13; 04-15-2011 at 01:29 PM.
Reply:Are you going to make a two way splitter or one way?
Reply:Are you going to make it so you can roll it up over the logs needing to be split while they are on the ground ?or are you going to have to pick up each and every one of those heavy logs in order to let the machine make them into light smaller pieces of wood ?Weldandpower Lincoln 225 AC,DC with Briggs 16hp gas engine.WW2 era Miller TIG.
Reply:One way splitter horizontal model. I have my son roll the chunks off the trailer directly to the splitter, no need to make it a vertical or handle the logs again.
Reply:Good work Moose. Very nice configuration, really it will going to be an efficient machine. But one thing I wanna suggest is if you can drop its price then it would definitely going to be among the most usable machine. _______________Log Splitter Ireland |
