Decided to make a stand for my JMR since I got the Swag Off-Road bracket to switch it to air over hydro. Not having to bolt the bender to the floor anymore is very nice...being able to just roll it over to the corner of the shop instead of carry it is even nicer. This also provides me with a place to put some of the dies and if I'm bending a heavy piece I can add weight to the bottom of the stand to keep it from tipping.Let me know what you guys think:--Wintermute"No man's knowledge here can go beyond his experience." - John Lockewww.improvised-engineering.comManufacturer Agnostic:Blood----------Sweat---------Tears----|------------------|----------------|----Lincoln Red, Miller Blue, Esab Yellow

Reply:Brucer, yup, the white is actually powder coat. Went with the white since I was doing some other parts in that color and it saves me money to do everything in the run the same color... I do like how it came out though, looks really clean (at least for another day or so) wd40, how did you hook up the return spring? That'd be a life saver, pulling that cylinder back is a pain --Wintermute"No man's knowledge here can go beyond his experience." - John Lockewww.improvised-engineering.comManufacturer Agnostic:Blood----------Sweat---------Tears----|------------------|----------------|----Lincoln Red, Miller Blue, Esab Yellow

Reply:That looks great....I like the white. Honestly, in a one man shop, I don't think the white powder would be that hard to keep clean....as long as you keep it away from the welder.
Reply:The post itself is a 2x2x0.25, the bottom plate is a 1/8th with the post beveled out and welded to it multi-pass, the upper plate is 1/8" with the post passing throug it (I plasma'd out the 2x2 hole for the post to pass through, it's welded both top and bottom to the plate). The top plate the bender mounts to is the Crazy 8 mounting plate from Swag Off-Road. That plate is 3/8" thick. Really overbuilt for what it needs to do since the only torsional stress is actually against the top mounting plate...but the extra weight from the heavier materials used do serve to keep the whole thing from tipping over Hmm...I take it I'm not allowed to join the betting pool? --Wintermute"No man's knowledge here can go beyond his experience." - John Lockewww.improvised-engineering.comManufacturer Agnostic:Blood----------Sweat---------Tears----|------------------|----------------|----Lincoln Red, Miller Blue, Esab Yellow
