So I am ready to purchase a TIG welder.  In school I have been using the Miller Dynasty 350, and the Lincoln Precision TIG 375.  I am leaning towards the Dynasty 350. It’s more than I need now, but don't want to spend less now and need more later (been there before). I know the Miller Dynasty 350 is inverter based and the Lincoln is transformer based.  I know awhile back the inverter based machines were problematic, just wondering how they are holding up today.  What is your experience with either machine, and what has been your online buying experience with such a machine?  -I have some experience with each, but also interested in other folks experiences in the field.  Spoke with Miller HQ, and they said Cyberweld is a reputable online distributor and that the Dynasty 350 would ship direct from Miller.  I would love to buy from my local welding supply, like I did with my last two Lincoln MIG machines, but Cyberweld has the Miller Dynasty 350 TIGRunner Complete (951401), on sale for $8,494. delivered!  Best local price is $10,000 delivered. -Ouch!  Any buying suggestions welcome... -buy as package, basic unit, etc... wireless foot control Vs wired foot control...Gar. Reply:I would suggest the Dynasty. The inverter will be use less power to do same job, with the adjustability of the arc you will be able to out do the transformer based 375.
Reply:I can't speak much on the 350 but I got my diversion 180 about a month ago from cyberweld and they were great.  Good price and fast shipping and great customer support.  Tried to buy from my lws (cee-Kay) but it was hundreds more.  Asked lws if they would match online pricing but no dice.  It's hard to compete with the Internet.
Reply:Talk to B_C. He had both in his shop just months ago running side by side. He only has one now. I anyone can give you an unbiased comparison he can.Obviously I am biased.Last edited by shovelon; 06-21-2013 at 09:47 PM.Weld like a "WELDOR", not a wel-"DERR" MillerDynasty700DX,Dynasty350DX4ea,Dynasty200DX,Li  ncolnSW200-2ea.,MillerMatic350P,MillerMatic200w/spoolgun,MKCobraMig260,Lincoln SP-170T,PlasmaCam/Hypertherm1250,HFProTig2ea,MigMax1ea.

Reply:Try Welders Supply Company.Reputable firm and it's really hard to beat their prices.
Reply:I paid $7400 from my local welding supply shop. They are a national company, not a mom and pop shop. There was another shop that quoted me $8400 as well. This was about a year ago and both shops are Miller retail shops. My setup is a Miller Dynasty 350 Tig Runner Package.

Reply:Theres hardly such a thing as too big when it comes to tig, especially when aluminum is involved. If welding is truly your passion or livelyhood, then go for the 350. I have the D200 and love it. The only way it could make me happier is if it were a 350!OzDynasty 200DXMiller 210 Spooly
Reply:The Dynasty all the way.  Steve 7A749 is right.  I've seen the D350 brand new online for $5600.  You could go all new with a pedal, Coolmate 3, tig torch, regulator, etc for prolly under a grand.  So you'll save 2K.The runner package does look great though.  Gives me a chubby.TA Arcmaster 300CM3XMT 304S22P12 suitcase feederX-Treme 12VSOptima pulserTA161SMaxstar 150STLHypertherm PM45OP setupStihl 020AVP, 039, 066 Magnum

Reply:So after a little research, this is what ive come up with so far.BR Welding Supplies: $5975.00http://www.brwelder.com/servlet/the-...350-Tig/DetailScott Gross: $6048.95http://www.scottgrossstore.com/servlet/CategoriesJ.W. Goodliffe & Son, Inc AKA: CyberWeld: $6248.00http://store.cyberweld.com/mitigwedy350.htmlAnyone following this post ever order from the first two companies online?  I know CyberWeld is an authorized Miller distributor, spoke to Miller about them yesterday. Miller is closed weekends (assuming), so no way to investigate them now through Miller.  The difference is $272 between the highest and lowest.  My concern is ordering from a lesser know store that may ship me a return/ repackaged-refurbished unit, and not have one drop shipped direct from Miller as does CyberWeld does.  Also, I like the idea of building this machine the way I want it built, using the torches I need, and building the cart the way I like it.  Makes perfect sense to me. –Good advise!I will also see if my LWS will price match.  In my research, I discovered the reason why these online stores are able to sell this unit so cheap (less then what some may even pay for it initially) is that they get volume incentive pricing rewards, kind of like a car dealership.  The more units they sell, the more cash they get back at the end of the year.  The LWS often just can’t do that.  I also know that the LWS does not necessarily make their money selling machines, but rather consumables.  Feel free to add to this if my info is skewed.  Thanks again!GarLincoln Electric, Power MIG 256Hypertherm Powermax 45 Miller Dynasty 280DXSmith O/A torchGenesis of a welding table

Reply:BR Welding is a real store, up around La Plata, Md, just east of D.C.   Sundown III bought his Dynasty 200 DX from BR.  Scott-Gross has quite a few retail locations.  They also own the Gas Pony/Thoroughbred cylinder exchange company that sells cylinders & gas through places like Tractor Supply and Northern Tool."USMCPOP" First-born son: KIA  Iraq 1/26/05Syncrowave 250 w/ Coolmate 3Dialarc 250, Idealarc 250SP-175 +Firepower TIG 160S (gave the TA 161 STL to the son)Lincwelder AC180C (1952)Victor & Smith O/A torchesMiller spot welder

Reply:There's a factory recon on eBay right now with no bids at $5470.  You could make an offer.  You're right on the new pricing.  I believe the prices have jumped since I started dreaming of buying one.TA Arcmaster 300CM3XMT 304S22P12 suitcase feederX-Treme 12VSOptima pulserTA161SMaxstar 150STLHypertherm PM45OP setupStihl 020AVP, 039, 066 Magnum
