A DIY cheapskate's solution to a door

Thought it time I posted another little project to balance the time I spend in Off Topic upsetting people.It's more a sliding wall than a door.It conceals the bathroom in a space I'm slowly renovating at home. I'm in no hurry and turn my attention to it occasionally.I looked at various proprietory systems for sliding and hanging etc doors. I've used them previously. They're all expensive, though.The door is a 2400 x 1500 (8' x 5'?) sheet of 18mm ply. Stained on one side, and painted on the other. The ply came from Finland via the US, bizarrely.The track in the floor is two 3m lengths of 12mm x 3mm aluminium. I made the grooves with a circular saw (and alot of dust). They cost about $15 per length from Bunnings - our equivalent of Harbour Freight perhaps?The overhead guide is made from two 3m lengths of 50mm x 5mm steel flat bar. It it is welded as a channel with bracing across the top for mounting. Cost of the steel was $31 (+ some scraps I had at home).The brackets on the bottom that encase the wheels are from scrap, too.And the wheels? You know those cheap black castors that are everywhere these days? I bought two and extracted the wheels and put a bolt through them as an axle. They cost about $3.50 each I think. Reply:I stained the birch. It's a light oak colour from Sikkens - European manufacturer I presume. I've used gallons and gallons of it over the years.On top of the stain is a product called Osmo Hard Wax Oil. It's used mostly for flooring, but I use it anywhere.
