So i was changing the exhaust for my malaguti f15 50 and then i snapped a bolt in it, so i drilled it out but as i done so the thread went. i went out and when i came back my uncle had tried to make the whole bigger for another bolt to go through. is it possible to weld the bracket or weld another bit of metal on to the bracket exhaust can fit on?thank you
Reply:The correct way is to clean and weld the hole up and retap. But if I was you I would go buy some metal putty, and a new stud, fill hole with mixed putty then push in the stud, making sure the stub is aligned and the putty is well packed around it, leave it a few hours and fix exhaust, tighten nut but be careful, not too much, leave a few more hours. then start bike and run until you can only kee you hand on the stud/nut area, leave again for a few hours. do the same again. and it "should" be good to go.Suzuki Bandits are prone to this, I've fixed a few like this where people didn't want to spend money on the correct repair.
Reply:Thank you mate.I forgot the mention that he snaped the rounded off side of the bracket but i still have it so as to weld it back on but dont how if it will work
