Can you ship a full argon tank

i was looking at a brand new argon bottle it's a 125 cubic foot tank full of 75/25 on ebayfor 300 bucks + shipping but i wanted to know is it safe to ship an argon tank.

Reply:Hello Mig welder95, two issues come to mind when you are considering shipping of a "high-pressure" cylinder. First being that it contains hi-pressure gas, this requires that it be shipped in an identified unit with appropriate placards. Secondly, although Ar/CO2 isn't flammable, it is a gas which can result in asphyxiation, thus it is special in that regard and requires the necessary considerations. Just these two things will likely require "special" shipping considerations and cause shipping to be above what you should/would like to be paying. As others have added, you are likely better off to purchase directly from you LWS or possibly off of Craigslist in your area providing you can receive proper documentation on the cylinder that you are purchasing to be sure that it isn't a rental bottle.
