I generally go look if someone is selling used oxy/acetylene tanks in my neighborhood. Last night I ran across a pair which were labeled as Industrial Air Products CO but which the seller swore were owner tanks. I passed on them, being leery of his claim, and will review that with the various LWSs in my area on Monday. But the weird thing was the size of the acetylene cylinder. It was taller than a #3 (75cf) but also quite a bit fatter. I borrowed the guy's rafter square and eyeballed the OD as 8-1/4". It was shoehorned into a cart designed for a 75cf acetylene cylinder and was clearly way too big. I have never ever run across an acetylene cylinder of this size. It was labeled as having been last filled with 103 cf of acetylene. And it was way shorter than a #4 cylinder. Weird.Info? |
